I am very happy with the Avs draft. These players you have to remember are just kids. It sounds like they all have a lot of potential and a lot of room to grow. Eventually these prospects will all play together in the AHL and hopefully be successful and be able to translate that success to the avs in the future.

Super excited about Jost he's going to be a star. Exactly the attitude the Avs need around the locker room. When they see a kid giving his all the others will be forced to do the same

Yep I'm a fan of the draft class this year. It's a solid class that meets top tier need to solid depth need. Then holden and Berra get traded. Avs took a step forward.

Wit holden goNE, what kind if pairings are we looking at this coming year?

I don't know what cool aid the Rangers GM is having to say that Holden is real responsible and a good penalty killer and all of that because I never seen what it is he is talking about! All Holden made me wanna do last year when watching him play was put my fist through the screen! lol As far as the draft goes I am really happy with what they have accomplished. they didn't make a big splash or shake up and do something stupid as trading Duchene or Barrie! cleared cap space and now concentrating on Barrie and Mackinnon! now a couple of depth guys in free agency but not too many big names and I'll be really happy!

I'm happy with the depth we added to our prospect pool too!
and I could see them giving Gormley and Siemens a more in depth look and signing a depth D on July first

Somebody better keep an eye on Roy:

He's liable to try and put Holden on the game roster anyways...

I wouldn't mind them trying that for even just a few games to give Siemens a real good look considering he was picked 9 picks behind Landy and I had really high hopes for him! He was also set back a lot by injuries so who knows?

I could see Avs going after wiercioch once he becomes a UFA when Ott doesnt qualify him. They have been linked to that guy for a while now. Role with Gelinas and an open roster spot at camp for the 7th/8th spots and Im cool with that

To be fair, Holden was decent for the beginning of the year last year. He is fine as a 3rd pairing/7th defenseman with limited minutes. The problem was that he was being used as a top 4 defenseman constantly going up against top 6 talent. He was just in over his head. If he's put in the right position in NY, he will do good things for them.

Yeah but if he stayed of the team we all know that Roy would have back at the same thing with his boy Holden and the disaster would have continued!

And I guess no radulov for us anymore!

I think he served his purpose here. His firs yeart he played pretty well and put up points. This year he was asked to do more than he could handle, but no one else was ready to take his mins. I think bigras will slowly work his way up to the 18 to 20 min mark this year and possibly hit the 15 to 20 point mark. But saving 1.6 m on the cap is also great news. We have dumped 2 mil. Got to sign our home grown talent, maybe a solid 3rd/4th d for a year or two to help our young guys along, maybe a couple 3rd line players and we are primed!

I'm not saying I don't like the trade. I just think people are being a little harsh on Holden.

Concerning Radulov, Thank god. I was never on board with bringing him in. All he cares about is the money. I don't see how anyone is surprised that he went back to Russia.

Yeah I agree myself I'll admit I tended to be too harsh oh Holden but it was really his misuse by Roy and the coaching staff and it was very painful to watch. that said I'm more than happy with the trade and I think we all are with it!

And for Radulov I wasn't a fan of bringing him to Colorado either but was worried the rumors were true with us looking like we were clearing cap space with the two trades we made. and for Radulov going back to Russia in a sense isn't surprising especially with him asking for 7.5M for 2 years, but then again I was thinking he would ask for that then get maybe 5-5.5!? Either way I'm happy we didn't go there... great player on the ice but off the ice and in the dressing room he is a poison!!!

I just shocked that they traded him. He would be ok as a 6th/7th dman. But a cap hit at 1.6m to just be a good healthy scratch dman is just not good value, so for someone to trade for that. I was shocked.

He would be played in the Top 4 TOI time if he was wiht the Avs still, no way Patty staples him to the bench, so just glad they were able to move him for something of value.

I think the Rads label of money grubbing isnt exactly deserved, nothing concrete has come out for either side this whole time, no one really knows what Rads intentions are. In both cases, the money amount, and the signing back in the KHL came from one report, later refuted, but everyone picks up the headline and runs with it. So by the point his name really has been railroaded by sloppy reporting by a lot of hockey peoople.

Im still on Team Rads

Yeah nothing has been confirmed. Rads would be an interesting player to get. A vet with a nasty attitude on ice who can score. But to me he not going to get over 5 per season here. Too many others are needed to sign. I would be okay with a 1 year deal to see where it goes. The 7 I was hearing is way to much. I would like the avs to maybe try to sign Ladd for a 3 year deal. Similar to Comeau, can play top 6 and 3rd line real well.

Avs twitter needs to slow it down a bit, jumping off the bridge about having to buy out Stuart.

Sucks but they didnt have any options really if the rumours were true about him. If he was healthy, they couldnt LTIR, and if he was fighting with Roy and didnt like his role, he woudlnt be in the press box being a mentor and team player.

He had no trade value, so Avs woudl have to send a good asset with him for a team to take that contract.

Avs were stuck, so lets just wait and see what else they do this offseason with the cap space, roster spots first before people start writing off the season bc we have 3.6m in dead space for 1 season

I've really only seen one person. I've loved all the moves they made so far. My biggest worry is how they're going to ice an ahl team. They need to bring in a lot of people.
